#govdesign

The strength of many movements lies how clearly they communicate their message.

In establishing design as a cross-government profession, we needed to very clearly signal our intent in a way that was compelling and aspirational.

I established the #govdesign movement and over a period of 5 years, my team produced 100s of posters, stickers, mission patches, memes and graphics to virally communicate our messages, later establishing the #govdesign Tumblr to host these.

I also established an external meetup – Govdesign – now co-run by GDS and the RCA to increase awareness and excitement about public sector design in the design industry.
