Creating a global government design community

In 2017 I set up the International Government Design Community to tackle the shared problems that many governments are facing around the world.

With over 700 members from 47 countries, the group comes together regularly to share design solutions to common problems like ageing, immigration and farming.

The group is now actively engaged in growing service design within government, designing co-authored patterns that are often published on the GOV.UK Design System, and establishing international service standards.

In 2018 I set up the International Government Design conference to bring together this diverse group and accelerate the work it does together. In 2019 the conference will expand to three conferences – in Scotland, Denmark and the USA
